About the Author
John F. Gallagher served over thirty years on the Boston Police Department and retired at the rank of superintendent. As a command staff member, he was the department’s chief of detectives.

Gallagher published his fourth book, Passion, Poison, and Pretense: The Murder of Hingham’s Postmaster, in September 2020. He will speak about his latest book and his three other books, A History of Homicide in Hanover: Murder on Broadway; Arsenic in Assinippi: The Trial of Jennie May Eaton for the Murder of Her Husband, Rear Admiral Joseph Eaton; and A Monument to Her Grief: The Sturtevant Murders of Halifax, Massachusetts, at upcoming local author events.
